Meet Eaton Community Bank

Mid-Michigan community bank adopts new name as part of brand update

Charlotte-based Eaton Federal Savings Bank, which operates seven branch offices in mid-Michigan, will streamline its name to Eaton Community Bank, effective Oct. 6.

The new name headlines a comprehensive rebranding strategy that will see Eaton refresh its image while rededicating itself to its sole market area.

Aside from a new name, upcoming changes include a new logo, website, and the planned remodeling of all seven branches.

“Our new name honors our roots while better reflecting who we are,” says bank president Tim Jewell. “As a mutual bank, we’re owned by our customers. As a community bank, we focus all of our efforts on supporting the individuals, families and businesses in just one region—namely, Eaton and surrounding counties.”

Marketing campaign and branch remodeling

To introduce the new name, Eaton will launch a marketing campaign via billboards, online advertising and more. In coming months, the bank’s new image will become even more apparent as it gradually remodels and modernizes each of its branch offices.

New website and URL

Also on Oct. 6, Eaton will introduce a new website that offers simpler navigation, broader content and responsive web design to assure the best possible experience on any type of device—smartphone, tablet or computer.

In addition, the new website will feature a new URL—www.eaton.bank—which promises customers greater security. Many banks are replacing their dot-com domain with the new dot-bank domain because it’s exclusive to financial institutions and requires rigorous vetting to obtain. Considered an online stamp of trust, the dot-bank domain—www.eaton.bank—will assure customers they’re actually on Eaton’s website and not a copycat.

$9,000 in community donations

To celebrate the changes and underscore its community commitment, Eaton will donate a total of $9,000 to five local non-profits. One organization will receive $5,000, while the other four get $1,000 each. Visitors to www.eaton.bank can vote for the organization they feel deserves the top award.

“All of these changes are taking place to give the community a better banking experience,” says David Hunt, Vice President of Retail Banking at Eaton. “We want to offer a fresh perspective while retaining the tradition our customers value.”
